14 x 18 inches $275.00

A non-refundable $50.00 deposit is due before work on your portrait may proceed. The remainder of the fee is due when the piece is finished. Phyllis accepts payment by check or money order for US funds, or by Paypal payment.

Shipping costs are not included in the commission fee. Phyllis will ship your portrait, or you may pick it up if you are in the local area (Fort Collins/Loveland/Greeley, Colorado). Costs for shipping vary depending on size, but are approximately $25.00 - $35.00.

Commission stages:

After Phyllis has accepted your commission, she will need you to supply photos of the portrait subject(s), or if you are in the Fort Collins/Loveland/Greeley Colorado area, she may schedule a visit to take the reference photos herself. A good, detailed photograph is a must for your portrait to look its best. If you are supplying photos, make sure the subject is the main focus of the picture and that it takes up at least a third of the picture. The greater the clarity and detail of your supplied reference photos, the better.

Suggestions for great portrait photos:

  • Have a friend take the pictures while you interact with the subject.
  • If you are photographing an animal, get on the animal's level. Keep the camera at the subject's eye level or lower. Don't photograph the animal while looking down or standing over it.

Once Phyllis has the reference photos, it will take about two months for your portrait to be finished. Allow more time during the holiday months of November and December. Phyllis will contact you during the intermediate stages of the painting so you have a chance to review the progress.
